Marine Structural
Design:
.
Structural design and
plan preparation for marinas in wood and concrete, fixed and floating
designs. Large boat lift
piers and pile-supported launch pads for both travel-lifts (+300 tons
capacity)
and marine forklifts (+85 tons gross).
.
Seawalls designed with steel/aluminum/vinyl/FRP sheetpile, concrete
panel/pile, and batter pile designs. Reinforced concrete
incorporating
conventional steel rebar (60 ksi), MMFX steel, galvanized steel, and
fiberglass rebars with corrosion prevention admixtures and
coatings. Rock
revetments for shoreline stabilization and permitting mitigation.
FEMA Map
Amendments:
.
Technical analysis and consultation in
support of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) 100-year flood map
changes. Analysis of coastal engineering processes, wave transformation
modeling, rectification of current FEMA maps, and design/analysis of
wave-trip seawall or rip-rap structures. Process the Conditional Letter
of Map Approval (CLOMR) and Letter of Map Approval (LOMR) submittals to
FEMA.
Coastal 100-Year
Storm Impact Analysis:
.
100-year storm impact analysis for the
permitting of beach-front condominium/hotel construction in South
Florida under the
requirements of the Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection
(FDEP). Determination of storm surge and wave crest levels, wave
and hydraulic flow impact to proposed structures. Analysis of beach
erosion and undermining using numerical modeling.
Coastal
Hydrographic / Hydraulic Analysis:
.
Hydrographic/hydraulic field measurements
and analysis for tidally-connected basins, canals, wetlands, and
estuaries in support of State and local permitting requirements.
Flow and pollutant dispersal analysis using EPA’s (Environmental
Protection Agency) WASP model (Water Quality Analysis Simulation
Program). Full turn-key solution through field measurements, data
reduction, analysis, and final report.
Artificial Reef
Stability Analysis:
.
Submerged stability analysis for various
types of artificial reef objects under both inertial and drag wave
forces representing 50 and 100-year storm events. Artificial
reefs may involve vessels such as tugs, barges, ships, miscellaneous
structures, and placement of rock boulders and pre-manufactured
artificial reef modules.
